How to make Lavender and Jojoba Body Lotion? – DIY

Here I am again trying to get a good night’s sleep but it seems impossible goal when you’re wide awake. But you have much more control over the quality of your sleep than you probably realize. Just as the way you feel during your waking hours often hinges on how well you sleep at night, so the cure for sleep difficulties can often be found in your daily routine.

People who are already into DIY products know that essential oils are too strong to apply directly to the skin. They must first be diluted in a carrier oil. Carrier oils, on the other hand, can be applied directly on skin or use as a base to dilute essential oils. That’s why we are making lavender (essential) and jojoba (carrier) oil.

When making your lotion, you will be needing an essential oil and carrier oil.

Using these products and buying from a different store but not easy to find Lavender and Jojoba together in one product. But did you know that you can make your homemade lotion from scratch?

First let us learn what are these two essential oils, where they came from, and what are their benefits

What is Beauty of Lavender?

Lavender is a star in the beauty world. It is proclaimed to be the most versatile and universal of all essential oils. It is widely used in beauty and wellness products –creams, powder, facial mist, healing balm, shampoo and conditioner, and so much more! It is the perfect ingredient because it leaves skin hydrated, smooth, and more supple. It helps address age spots, dark spots, and discoloration as well as reduce inflammation.

There is a bonus part. This soothing herb has calming and relaxing effects. Research shows its scent lowers heart rate and blood pressure, putting you in a relaxed state and better mood.

What are the Wonders of Jojoba?

Jojoba is equally a star and especially famous in skincare. If you have ever checked the ingredient list on some of the most popular and branded skincare products, you may find that jojoba is essential. It helps improves the elasticity and firmness of the skin. Its moisturizing effects help in delaying age spots and fine lines and is great for softening mature and dry skin. Moreover, it aids in healing inflamed skin conditions and minimize the appearance of scars.

Combine the two and what do you get? Not exactly a magic potion, but a lotion that your skin will thank you for.

Recommended tips to gain back your glamorous, glowing skin

Along with moisturizing your skin with our DIY lotion, it is best to couple it with:

1. Sleep

This may be one of the underrated beauty regimens. In this digital age, everyone just seemed so busy. Before I became a mom, I was one of those people who believe in YOLO, the type who worked hard and partied even harder. Ever wondered why a bride who has to be wed the following day must have her beauty sleep? Sleep makes a huge difference in our skin’s appearance. National Sleep Foundation recommends 7 to 9 hours of sleep per day for adults ages 26-65. One factor of the study was based on anatomy and physiology.

2. Water

Water, with its many wonders, is important for skin to be soft and smooth. Without enough water, our skin is more likely to wrinkle and dry out. It also makes the skin more elastic. Sprinkling your face with water is great for a little pick-me-up during the busiest part of the day. In dryer climates, using a humidifier is likewise beneficial for the skin.

3. A little kindness to your skin

Be gentle when washing your face and body and use a soft towel to pat your skin dry. Apply skin moisturize especially in the morning and at night. Keep your showers short and sweet as frequent washing and drying can cause your skin to become dehydrated. Exfoliate your face once or twice a week to removes impurities and help ensure that skin cells regenerate properly. And of course, apply sunscreen to your face and neck at least once a day.
