When our sleep was complete, we wake up feeling refreshed and have the energy for our daily activities, our minds are more alert and have a sharp memory. It affects how we look and can have a major impact on our overall quality of life. Even in our health.
Both quantity and quality of sleep are important. An average of 8 to 9 hours—a night of uninterrupted sleep to leave their bodies and minds rejuvenated for the next day. And when the sleep was not complete, the body doesn’t have time to complete all of the steps needed for muscle repair, memory combination, and release of hormones regulating growth and appetite. Then we wake up not as much prepared to concentrate, can’t make decisions immediately, or engage fully in school, work, and social activities.
When reading about sleep I learned about these cycles. And follows an alternating pattern, these are REM (rapid eye movement) and NREM (non-rapid eye movement).
When we are sleep deprived, it affects our immune system which leads us to various diseases. Others may have sleep Disorders, that refer to certain conditions that may disturb your normal sleep pattern. Essential Oils can help in some studies.
Balanced sleep regulates the hormones ghrelin and leptin, which play a role in our feelings of desire to eat and fullness. Lack of it may lead to weight gain. Eating healthy food is important as well as much of sleep completely in regular. Unhealthy habits and choices will affect everything even our mood, health(heart), brain, creativity, vitality and what I mentioned above.
We are not perfect, most of us are experiencing sleep problems in a while. And more aware of our daily habits, now that it was not that serious we can make something to prevent it to deteriorate. There are non-medical treatment options are often referred to as bedtime routine.
When we think of skincare before bedtime, we will immediately think of our faces, especially in most of us. We just wash our face and put on moisturizing cream and done. But why we didn’t realize that the skin is the outer covering of our body and the largest organ, not to mention that we have a lot of diseases get through this. And most importantly when using lotion to our body, it is not that it helps our skin moisturizes but it could help us to get a good night’s sleep. Here are some ideas that may help in buying those products.
New trend: Lotion Bars
What is the lotion bars? It much looks like a bar of soap. Unlike liquid lotion with a pump, it is much easy to carry for travels, no worries that it might spill to your things.
How to use the lotion bar?
It is not used with water, they work by rubbing them between your hands (like a bar of soap)…..this transfers the lotion to your hands and the natural warmth of your skin will soften and melts the lotion during application. They are completely natural with no preservatives. It is the best in moisturizing even the cracks in my fingers, heel, and toes.

Why do we need a lotion for sleep?
Regenerates your skin
- several studies suggest that magic happens between 11 and midnight. “That’s when cell mitosis—cell division that renews and repairs skin—is at its peak, whether you’re asleep or not,” says New York-based dermatologist Dennis Gross, MD. The cells need nutrients the most, and when their anti-aging benefits have maximum impact.”
More receptive to products
- means in the night it absorbs more than you are active.
Skin loses moisture
- there is less sebum (oil) production at night, according to Sonoa Au, MD, of Advanced Dermatology, P.C., who is based in Brooklyn.
Change in skin temperature
- When you sleep, your skin becomes slightly hotter and slightly more acidic, says Dr. Au.
- When you get quality sleep, you’re not facing the things that cause cortisol (the stress hormone) levels to surge during the day.
- there is a great chance that you will have a good night’s sleep most especially when you use lotion with essential oils. Best example, Lavender essential oil.
Does lavender oil help you sleep?
Our sense of smell is our strongest, most influential sense. When you sniff something it gives you a chain reaction in the brain and body. Altering blood pressure, activating the immune system and stimulating digestion. Which makes you more relax and calm.
It is closely linked with memory, it may be more so than any of our other senses. May be able to think of smells that evoke particular memories; the scent of cotton candy and toasted popcorn in a team park, for example. Where often happen spontaneously, with a smell acting as a trigger in recalling a long-forgotten event or experience.
Knowing all these, we are now equipped with knowledge of why our first essential oil ingredient to find was Lavender oil, some lotions contain other essential oil for maximum effect, but we should be meticulous in checking what would be necessary and not. We might not find a particular product that contains not only Lavender oil because some oils are better when combine.
