Why You Should Try More Lavender DIY Products?
A few months ago, I attended a college reunion party. It was so much fun catching up with everyone, from my classmates to my professors. That night, a friend of mine tagged me on Facebook. We did the How hard did aging hit you? challenge, and I am telling you, this was the first time I realized, it hit me so hard.
My dilemma is this: While I believe I am getting wiser, I am no longer getting any younger. The evidence cannot simply be denied. I am in my mid-thirties. I look into the mirror and I see fine lines, age spots, wrinkles, and sagging skin. I no longer have the youthful glow that has been there before. Let us just say that the skin routine department is not really a first on my priorities. I am a mom to a one-year-old baby and I have a full-time job. It took a toll on my skin as I age. I knew I had to do something about it. As they say, if you love something (or someone), you have to make time for it. All of us could use a little self-love every now and then.
So I visited my trusted pal, Google, in search of some answers to my concern. Lo and behold, it turned out that I am missing one simple, but extremely important step to decelerate skin aging: moisturizing and hydrating. I then searched for various products moisturizing products from the most popular and expensive brands to drugstore products. And then I came across DIY products. I got curious and excited at the same time! Since I made up my mind in stepping up my beauty fix, I decided to make my own lotion.
I watched tons of tutorial videos and read related DIY articles online. I felt like a chemist, making messy but fun trials and errors. That is until I stumble upon the Youtube Channel of Luisa Louis. She made a basic recipe for lotion and encourages everyone to mix and match ingredients depending on preference. This recipe is easy to make and has three main ingredients. I love the fact that, unlike most of the tutorials, her method does not use heat in preparing the lotion so the ingredients will not lose their remedial properties.
Best reasons to make Lavender DIY products?
Helps in Moisturizing Your Skin –
We all deal with skin dryness at some point in our lives. Moisturizing our skin is essential in bringing oils and minerals back and working from beneath the skin.
Offers Natural Ingredients –
When making your own product, you can choose only the best natural and organic ingredients. You can be sure that there are no synthetic components. Just as they say, what you apply on your skin, you feed your body. The best part, you can experiment on what ingredients works best for you.
Good Scent –
Your product will smell better because it is natural, and is not merely an imitation of a certain scent.
Saving Money –
When making DIYs, you will also be able to save money in the long run. You would just have to invest in your equipment (which I am sure are already found in your kitchen) and its ingredients. After that, you can already make batches of your product.
Helps the Environment –
You will also be helping the environment as you will be using reusable containers. While a lot of companies switched to environment-friendly containers and packaging, the majority of them still use plastic containers.
