Step by step procedure to prepare DIY lavender lotion bars: 

Now let’s come to the process of preparing lavender lotion bars at home. The ingredients required to make lavender lotion are as follows: 

  1. Half cup of coconut oil. 
  2. Half cup of beeswax.
  3. Half cup of shea butter.
  4. 10 to 15 drops of lavender essential oil.

Here is the process in detail: 

  1. Take a pan (or a double boiler would be more suitable) and add coconut oil, shea butter, and beeswax.
  2. Stir up the pan on low flame until the ingredients are combined and a mixture is formed.
  3. Wrench off the flame, add a few drops of lavender essential oil and mix it thoroughly.
  4. Pour the concoction in a silicon tray or mold and cool it for about 30 to 40 minutes in a refrigerator.
  5. Finally, lotion bars are formed with the perfumed fragrance of essential oils.
  6. Remove the bars from the mold, keep them in a jar and store them in a cool and dry place.

Directions to use Lavender Lotion bars:

  1. Remove the lotion bar from the mold.
  2. Rub the bar on your skin directly, especially on dried parts of the skin or anywhere else.
  3. As soon as you rub it, the lotion bar will soften due to body heat, skin-nourishing oils will release making it easier to be applied on the skin.
  4. Rub gently on hands, feet, arms, elbows, ankles or any other dry body parts.
  5. Massage them on the body surface until it gets absorbed into the skin.

For how long can Lavender lotion bars be stored?

To preserve lotion bars, essential oils are used as they are antimicrobial and act as preservatives. They are stored in a cool dry place to increase their shelf life.
